For the residents of Unitech Escape, Sector 50, Gurgaon, it was a high-energy weekend, as everybody — young and old — tried their hand at a two-day table tennis tournament.

The tournament, which saw 60 participants, was organised by the society RWA. The objective: To get residents to come together and have fun.

However, there were fewer female participants than men.

Speaking to City Spidey, RWA member Manashi Roy said, “The players were talented and we were surprised by their zeal. The objective was to get something exciting going, and I guess we succeeded."

Prior to this, the condominium had organised a sports meet in 2015.

Two of the organisers, Siddharth Sharma and Sujagya Sharma, felt their efforts were received well, and the weekend had turned into a fest of sorts.

"We had a fantastic time organising it. There was a lot of cooperation, especially from the kids," said Siddharth.

Siddharth Agarwal was the winner in the under-15 category, while Roshan Bindra won the under-11 category.

In the men's category, Mohit Mahajan was declared the winner, and in the veterans’ category, S Khanna.

Mahesh Yadav, RWA president, said, "We felt good seeing active participation. We want to provide our residents with high-energy entertainment, and we were quite successful in doing so.”
