DPSG, Gurgaon: First fee hike, now this...

About 300 parents of wards studying in DPSG, Gurgaon, continued their protest against the school authorities through a candle march on Wednesday. The march started at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 22, Palam Vihar, and ended at Palam Vihar police station.

Apart from the arbitrary fee hike, parents are also unhappy about the school’s sudden decision to shut school until it gets recognition by the education department.

“The school management closed the school abruptly, without any reason,” said Yashesh Yadav, a parent who participated in the candle march. “They should have informed parents that the school would be indefinitely shut. We would have taken our kids to some other school. Despite complaining to every possible government authority and political leader, our problems still persist. I decided to participate in the candle march to demand an FIR against the school for harassing the students.”

The parents marched a kilometre to the Palam Vihar police station, submitted a complaint against the school and demanded an FIR against DPSG.

“Our protest was to force the government to sit up and take notice,” said Ajay Yadav, a disgruntled parent from Palam Vihar. “It is high time they took some action. The fate of 3,000 children is at stake.”
