Thanks to the early-morning showers, the weather is fabulous!
The minimum temperature recorded today was 19.7 degree Celsius. The city also witnessed thunderstorms and lightning.
The officials at India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the city will witness rains on Sunday, which will hopefully provide some respite from the heat wave that has made life hell for NCR residents.
This year, the heat wave has struck much earlier than usual, confirmed IMD officials. They also predicted that the heat wave would intensify over the next few weeks.
IMD predicted that the temperature was likely to drop by 5 degree Celsius during the first two days of the forthcoming week. “The region is experiencing a drop in temperature and slight showers because of the movement of western disturbance towards Rajasthan. There is also possibility of rain or thunderstorm in isolated areas of the city,” said an IMD official.
At present, both maximum and minimum temperatures are marked 5 degrees above normal. According to IMD officials, this year's monsoon is expected to be weak and the region is set to experience heat waves for the most part of the year.TAGS: India Meteorological Department / IMD / Rain / Thunderstorm / Rajasthan
