Sector 49, Noida, gets a new president

Residents of Sector 49, Noida, today elected Sanjay Tyagi as president of the RWA. Elections were held at the sector’s community centre.

Tyagi, who received 94 votes, defeated his opponent Mukesh Sharma by 18 votes. Talking to City Spidey, Tyagi said, "Residents have given me the opportunity to work for the betterment of the sector, and I will try my best to live up to their expectations."

The returning officer, SP Nain, declared PK Bhandari as vice-president, Vijay Bhati as secretary, Anjul Gupta as joint secretary, and Vinod Ram Chandani as treasurer.

Nain said that eight other residents, who were contesting for the post of management committee members, were elected unopposed. He said, "The sector has four blocks and two members were to be elected from each. But since we didn’t receive any other nominations apart from the eight – two from each block – they were automatically declared winners."
