To celebrate World Environment Day, RWA of Sector 17B, Gurgaon, organised a tree-planting drive in the colony today, and also stressed on the ‘gift-a-tree’ idea, which could drastically improve the green cover.
A tree-planting drive under way at Jogger’s Park
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all embrace the idea that a plant is just as good a gift as any other! That’s what the RWA of Sector 17B tried to explain to the residents World Environment Day or June 5.
To further drive home the point, the RWA — in association with the Gurgaon-based NGO Tree Man — organised a tree-planting drive in the colony today.

A team of 35 children and 25 adults took part in the drive at Jogger’s Park in Sector 17B.
The day began with an interactive session with the NGO. The ‘gift-a-tree’ idea — and how it could drastically increase the green cover — was stressed upon during the interaction.
Speaking to City Spidey, DS Yadav, president of Sector 17B, said, “The children are the future of our country and we must engage them in activities that will improve their sense of responsibility.”
There was a drawing competition for the children as well.
