Residents of Ghaziabad, especially from areas bordering Noida and Delhi, often complain that when they dial 100 in an emergency, their calls end up in the police control rooms of nearby cities, such as Delhi, instead of being directed to the Ghaziabad police control room.

In order to resolve this problem, Ghaziabad police has issued a set of phone numbers that can be dialed during emergencies. Residents can dial 0120-2800750, 2767342, 2767343 and 2767344 in such situations.

Speaking to City Spidey, police officials said that the phone calls made to these numbers will be responded directly by the police control room and will work just like calls made to the emergency number 100.

The numbers are currently being shared by residents and the police via various message platforms, such as Whatsapp.

Residents told City Spidey that they have already saved the numbers in their contact list. Praveen Shukla, a resident of Niti Khand II, Indirapuram, said that he and many of his neighbours have failed to contact the police on many accounts by calling 100. “I have already saved the numbers and will use them instead of dialing 100,” Shukla added.
