Is there any end to homebuyer woes?

Following the CM Adityanath's instructions, Noida Authority organised a series of tripartite meetings to discuss and resolve the issues. But the builders don't seem to be paying any heed to the Authority's orders.

Is there any end to homebuyer woes?

Homebuyers of several group-housing projects have started lodging complaints against the builders, for failing to comply with Noida Authority's order.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered Noida Authority to look into the buyer-builder issues and ensure that buyers get possession of their homes.

Following the CM's order, the Authority organised a string of tripartite meetings involving buyers, developers, and Authority officials to discuss and resolve the issues. The Authority convened meetings with developers of 23 different group-housing projects in the city.

At each of the meetings, the then Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of the Authority Shishir Singh had ordered the builders to submit project completion reports within 10 days of the meetings. However, only half the developers have submitted their reports until now.

Brij Bhushan Bani, who booked a flat in Antriksh Golf View, a residential society in Sector 78, said he had apprised the Authority officials about the builder constructing illegal flats on the ground floor, in an area earmarked for parking.

The officials had directed the builder to stop the construction but the works is still in progress on the site. Bani said the builder was yet to clear the Authority's dues for land allotment, owing to which the occupancy and completion certificates of the project are yet to be generated.

Another buyer, Colonel P Chandra, who has a flat in Aditya Urban Casa, said that the builder had paid no heed to the Authority's orders to solve the society's fire-safety issues.

Santosh Kumar, Office on Special Duty (OSD) with Noida Authority, said he was preparing a list of builders who had not followed the Authority's orders. "The errant builders will be served a notice within a couple of days," added Kumar.
