SDMC mayor: 'I need your support for better sanitation in Dwarka' SDMC mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat at an event organised by Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi

Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), Kamaljeet Sehrawat, assured residents of improvements to Dwarka’s sanitation system at the concluding ceremony of Environment Week organised at Chitrakoot Apartments in Sector 22.

The event was organised by Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS).

Sehrawat said, "Many initiatives are being taken by the corporation to improve sanitation in the area. Within a month or so, all societies will get two big dustbins — one green and one blue — to keep waste segregated at the society level. It will help in proper disposal of garbage at the source itself. SDMC also plans to instal a composter in each ward for wet waste."

Sehrawat, also a resident of Dwarka, urged, “The community needs to show some responsibility for tangible change to take effect. I am determined to give you the best results, but I also need your support."

Many social and environmental activists, eminent personalities and representatives of various RWAs and forums were present at the event. Activists such as Ramesh Mumukshu, Diwan Singh and Madhuri Varshney also shared their experiences with the audience.

In addition to this, there was an exhibition of photographs by nature lover PK Datta. SDKS, too, displayed its environment-related work through photographs and media clippings.
