Paramount Floraville demands control of stray-animal entry into society

A one-and-a-half-year-old girl was attacked by stray dogs in Sector 137, Noida, on Thursday evening.

Sayesha Gupta, a resident of a ground-floor flat in Paramount Floraville, stepped out of the house alone when the maid forgot to shut the door properly. She was outside when a few stray dogs attacked her.

Thankfully, Abhisht Kusum Gupta, Sayesha’s father, noticed the child’s absence in the house and went out to look for her. “I managed to shoo the dogs away just on time,” he said.

The child was rushed to a private hospital in Sector 50 and was discharged after three hours of treatment.

The incident has left residents in a state of panic. A few went ahead and lodged a police complaint against the managing director of the Paramount Group and also the private agency looking after the security and maintenance of the society. However, according to the Surajpur police station, no FIR has been lodged yet.

Kusum said, “It is sheer negligence on the part of the builder. We have been asking them to control the entry of stray animals in the society, but they are not taking the issue seriously.”

Ankur Arora, another resident of the society, said there had also been a recent incident in which a monkey attacked security guards on duty.
