Residents of societies under the Trilokpuri municipal ward express their displeasure regarding development work and coordination with residents.

Residents of housing societies in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension that come under the Trilokpuri municipal ward are expressing their displeasure with Saroj Singh, their municipal councillor, over development work.
There are about 22 cooperative group housing societies (CGHS) in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension. Out of these, 14 societies, such as Kirti, United India, Rosewood, Vardhaman, River View, Shekhar, Uphar, Sadabahar, Punjabi, Basant, OCS, Dronacharya and Ashiyana, come under Trilokpuri municipal ward. The other eight societies come under Mayur Vihar Phase I municipal ward and New Ashok Nagar ward.
Purusottam Bhatt, president of United India Apartments, told City Spidey, “We pay our taxes regularly. But it seems the only work the municipal corporation is doing is lifting and cleaning of garbage from the area. Moreover, meeting the officials for our smallest of issues is not easy.”
Prior to the municipal elections in 2017, the aforementioned societies were under New Ashok Nagar municipal ward. D Raj, a resident of Dronacharya Apartments, says, “We had opposed ward shifting because we knew that we will face this situation one day. Our societies have been under Trilokpuri assembly seat but in the last three years, no work was done by the MLA.”
Residents say their disappointment has nothing to do with political issues. SB Sharma, a member of Rosewood managing committee, says, “We have nothing to do with the political party our MLA or councillor belongs to. We want development work done. In the last three years, not a single meeting was called by the MLA or the councillor.”
