Noida: It's Ridge Residency's turn to demand answers from builder

The latest in the series of triparty meetings was held today at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6. The meeting, conducted by Noida Authority, aimed to resolve the issues tabled by buyers of Ridge Residency, a project of Today Homes in Sector 135.

The meeting was chaired by the ACEO (additional CEO) of Noida Authority, AK Srivastava, and its OSD (officer on special duty), Santosh Kumar.

Buyers alleged that they had booked flats in 2009 and had paid 95 per cent of the cost. “The developer forced us to take possession of flats without obtaining the occupancy certificate [OC] or the completion certificate [CC] from the Authority,” a buyer complained.

Puneet Aggarwal, another buyer, told City Spidey that people had started living in four towers of the complex, but they were, according to Noida Authority, illegal occupants, as the registration hadn’t been done so far.

The developer had also not provided any of the promised facilities, alleged buyers. “There is no area for the kids to play in; the basement is not ready — neither is the clubhouse or the swimming pool. The firefighting system is non-functional and the lifts give trouble every now and then," complained a resident.

Noida Authority officials reprimanded the builder that without the OC and the CC, the developer couldn't force buyers to take possession.

Defending himself, GK Gambhir, director of Today Homes, said that he had submitted the application for the OC and the CC of nine towers and that, for the remaining nine, he would send a completion report to the Authority soon.

He also said he would provide all amenities to residents as soon as possible.

OSD Kumar said, “We have asked the developer to submit a tower-wise report to the Authority in a week. We’ll post the report on our website for buyers to read.”
