Noida traffic police sets up two enforcement teams

Noida traffic police has formed two enforcement teams that take rounds of the city throughout the day, checking violations reported by citizens via social media and telephone calls.

Layak Singh, Traffic Inspector of Noida told City Spidey that one enforcement team is headed by Head Constable Rakesh Kumar and has three traffic police constables. The second similar team is headed by Head Constable Satish Kumar. These teams are equipped with two cranes to tow away vehicles parked wrongly and impose fines on violators.

Layak Singh said the two teams will be on duty from 9 am to 9 pm These will be in addition to the regular traffic police personnel who will be on round the clock duty.

“On the basis of complaints received  from social media and other sources, the teams will carry out operations,” Layak Singh said.

The traffic police in Noida is under immense pressure as they handle three to four VIP visits a day. In all, the traffic police has 162 personnel and 50 traffic marshals in the district. The strength is clearly not enough to manage the traffic in the city.
