To the traffic police... With love, from Tulip White residents

We all complain about waterlogged streets and the traffic nuisance they create, but have we ever acknowledged the work the traffic police tirelessly does to make the roads just that much smoother for us commuters?

The residents, especially the young ones, of Tulip White, a condominium in Sector 69, Gurgaon, are doing just that. With the monsoons upon us, they have decided to gift raincoats and gumboots to the traffic police of Badshahpur.

The residents said the police deserved a token of appreciation from them for juggling various spots on so many busy crossings trying to ensure a smooth commute for them.

“The traffic police get wet in the rain but still do their job so diligently,” said 6-year-old Kairavi Singh. “We would like to thank them for ensuring our parents come home safe every night.”

The involvement of children in this initiative was also to sensitise them to the work traffic personnel do and increase respect for them.

An RWA member of Tulip White said, “The children are being taught about community helpers in school. We wanted to show them the practical side of things, and hence we took a few kids to the Badshahpur police station for an interaction and show them how they work.”

Speaking to City Spidey, Rajender Kumar, SHO, Badshahpur police station, said, “This initiative will increase children’s trust in us and make the resident-police bond stronger.”
