Road diversions in Ghaziabad due to Kanwar Yatra

To avoid traffic hassles in the city due to the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, an annual pilgrimage to Haridwar by worshippers of Shiva, Ghaziabad police has released a route diversion plan.

While releasing the route diversion plan, SP Traffic SN Singh said they would do their best to not let daily traffic be impeded due to the pilgrimage.

 

A quick look at the diversions

 

Here’s a summary of the diversions:

For heavy vehicles: Entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted from July 13-21 on the roads leading to Mohan Nagar from UP Gate, Maharajpur, Loni and Bhopura Border. In this period, entry of heavy vehicles will be permitted only from UP Gate via NH 24.

For light vehicles: Vehicles from Delhi towards Haridwar via Meerut will be able to ply only on a single lane of the road from 8 pm, July 13, to 8 am, July 17. Entry of any type of vehicle on the Delhi-Meerut Road will be restricted from 8 am, July 17, to 8 pm, July 21. Light vehicles moving towards Hardwar will have to take the route from UP Gate via NH 24, Vijay Nagar bypass, Hapur and Meerut Mawana.

Route diversions in the city: All light vehicles entering Ghaziabad on July 27 (Shivaratri) can approach from Vijay Nagar bypass by Lal Kuan, Atma Steel and Dasna intersection (NH 24). On Shivratri, all types of vehicles will be restricted from Choudhary Mor to Jassipura Mor, from New Bus Station to Jassipura Mor and to Hapur Tiraha (Delhi Gate).
