Green Team members from Ahinsa Khand 2, Indirapuram, are all set to embark on the second phase of their cleanliness drive tomorrow.
The second phase will be conducted on the stretch from Ashiyana Upvan till Shanti Gopal Hospital, and will involve residents of societies such as Exotica East Square, Arihant Residency, Jyoti Super Gardenia, Raison Armor Homes and others.
Speaking to City Spidey, Jayati Jain, a member of Green Team said, “The schedule has already been communicated to Florida Consultants, the local maintenance agency appointed by the GDA, and the neighbourhood AOAs. The societies have been informed as well.”
AOA member from Raison Armor Homes, Sanjeev Sharma, said, “I have discussed the drive with all the AOAs in the area. They have offered cooperation and support from their maintenance staff, and we are hoping for maximum participation from residents.”
The group had planned several other activities ahead of the drive, but could not complete them owing to lack of time and sufficient manpower.
“The graffiti in the societies could not be completed due to the rains. We had already applied putty on the walls, but that didn’t dry owing to the moisture. We also wanted to have an awareness drive for pet owners — what they should do when their pets relieve themselves in public space. That’ll have to be a separate drive now — probably on the last Sunday before Independence Day,” Jain added.
The team's WhatsApp group has been continually tinging with messages like ‘caps, gloves and masks are ready, and the only wait is for picking up the broom spade and tasla’, ‘tomorrow morning sharp at 8am’.
