Residents of Ekta Society, Sector 3, Dwarka, are elated. The much-awaited community centre was given a green signal by DDA recently.
Residents and DDA engineers involved in the project were present at the foundation-stone-laying ceremony. The two-storey building has a budget of about Rs 1.25 crore.
Madhury Varshney, a resident of the society, a social activist and joint secretary of Dwarka Forum, said, “We don't have any place to hold community functions now. This new community hall will be a boon to us."
Executive engineer of DDA, Laxmi Narayan, said, “This community hall is being constructed above the booster pump area. The tendering process will be completed in the next three months, and the hall will be ready by next year.”
