On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute 5,100 battery-operated rickshaws among people from the economically backward sections of society. These rickshaws are being financed under the micro-credit scheme by Mudra Bank. The Prime Minister will also unveil a welfare plan named "Standup India" at the Sector 62 grounds in Noida. A website related to the plan will also be launched.

Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Minister of State (Finance) Jayant Sinha, Union Tourism and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma, and members of parliament and other senior officials from the BJP will also be present.

The Standup India scheme has been designed chiefly to help people from the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. It will also promote entrepreneurship among women. Under the scheme, women and people from the backward classes can avail bank loans from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

The prime minister will reach the venue by 4 pm on Tuesday. Beneficiaries of this scheme will also get a chance to interact with him. The function will be over by 5.20 pm, after which PM Modi will leave for Delhi.
