Saya Zenith, I'Puram, brought a Krishna folkore to life on Janmashtami

Legend has it that during the monsoons, Lord Krishna and Radha turned into a peacock and peahen to dance atop a hill in Mayur Kutir in Varshana.

Saya Zenith, I'Puram, brought a Krishna folkore to life on Janmashtami

Saya Zenith, a high-rise residential society in Indirapuram, is known for its innovative cultural extravaganzas. This year’s Janamashtami celebrations were no different.

The AOA of this society, with the help of a resident Anil Chawalia, who has a professional music and dance company, had organised a mesmerising dance performance of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani, based on a mythological folklore.

This folklore celebrates the amorous love of the peacock and the peahen during the rainy season. While dancing together, peacocks and peahens occasionally cast glances at the passing clouds over the sky. The folklore says that this sight stirred Radha Rani’s desire to dance with her beloved lord. To please her, Lord Krishna had turned himself into a peacock and Radha into a peahen. They had then danced together on top of a hill in Mayur Kutir in Varshana.

Saya Zenith's beautiful rendition brought the story to life.
