Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (PVVNL), which supplies power to Noida, today admitted that owing to certain software glitches it was unable to provide the promised rebate to consumers who cleared all dues on or before the due date.

The discom assured that it would adjust the difference for its consumers in their next bills.

PS Jain, president of the Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Associations (CONRWA), said “According to the PVVNL scheme, consumers who had cleared their dues on or before the due date would enjoy a rebate of 0.50 per cent on the total consumption. Similarly, consumers who prepaid their future bills would be given an interest on the amount.”

Several consumers had paid up to enjoy the rebate scheme.

Jain and other members of CONRWA met superintendent engineer of PVVNL at his office in Sector 16 today. He assured them that the problem would be rectified, and the difference would be adjusted in the next bills.
