As a part of the magisterial probe into the death of Armaan Sehgal, a 10-year-old student, Rajesh Yadav, Additional District Magistrate(ADM) of Ghaziabad conducted an inspection of GD Goenka Public School (Indirapuram) premises today. The inquiry included inspection of the school premises and the alleged spot of the incident along with recording statement of the school staff and police officials who are investigating the incident.

Armaan Sehgal, a Class IV student of GD Goenka Public School, Indirapuram, died under mysterious circumstances within the school premises on August 1. An FIR was lodged against school officials and the matter is now being heard in Allahabad High Court.

 

 

Speaking to City Spidey, Rajesh Yadav, ADM (finance and revenue) said today’s inquiry included inspection of the spots where Armaan allegedly fell, recording of statements of the school's officials and checking the location of CCTV cameras.

About 10-12 staff members of the school along with Ankur Malhotra, the school’s chairman, and Kavita Sharma, the school’s principal, were present during the inquiry. While RK Mishra, police circle officer, SK Dubey, SO, Indirapuram police station and parents of Armaan were also present during the inquiry.

 

 

“The findings of the inquiry and various other details such as police reports and the post mortem report will be compiled into a larger report. The school's alleged negligence and laxity will be later investigated. The magisterial inquiry will be completed once the parents register their statements and the report is ready,” Yadav further said.

Speaking to City Spidey, Swati Sehgal, Armaan's mother, who was present during the inquiry, said the school accepted some laxity on their part. "During the ADM’s visit, the school management accepted that a nurse or a doctor was not present in the medical room at the time of incident. The school staff said Armaan was facing difficulty breathing. If oxygen would have been there may be he could have been saved." Swati added.
