In the wake of rising incidents of snatching and robbery in Sector 137, Noida, top cop Suniti Singh, SP (rural), GB Nagar, paid a visit to the sector today.

Giving a warm welcome to Singh, who was on her maiden visit to the sector, residents of different residential complexes told her how an atmosphere of fear prevailed in the sector. They brought to her notice a recent incident when a car parked outside Paramount Floraville was robbed.

Sandeep Ohari, a resident of Purvanchal Royal Park, said, “We have already informed the police that we do not feel safe here despite this place being an upscale residential pocket of Noida. There’s a central park here, but parents don’t allow their kids to go out and play there, as anti-social elements frequent these localities. We want the SP to help us.”

After listening to the grievances, Singh ordered police outpost in-charge to increase the frequency of patrol by PCR vans. She added, “If needed, stop at all T-points. I will visit the sector again after a fortnight to review the situation. I will initiate more stringent measures if things don’t improve.”

Vijay Saini, Vishal Rastogi, KK Gupta, Dinesh Dwivedi, Avisth Gupta, Alok Ranjan, Ravish Gupta, Vishnu Saini and other residents were present during the visit.
