Residents of Sector 61, Noida, has been complaining that Noida Authority is not supplying enough water to households for the past several days. And residents have been forced to buy bottled water to meet their daily needs.

Virendra Singh, RWA president of the sector, pleaded, “We have been suffering since the past two weeks. The RWA has put in complaints with the officials of the authority, but nothing has changed. We want the problem to be resolved as soon as possible.”

He added the normal three-hour supply twice every day — from 6 to 9 in the mornings and evenings — has been cut short to only an hour each. Moreover, he pressed on, there's no pressure, so the water doesn't reach the first and second floors.

When City Spidey contacted to RK Goel, project engineer of Noida Authority, he said a pipeline rupture near Pratap Vihar in Ghaziabad — the point from where Ganga jal is supplied to Noida — is causing the inconvenience.

He, however, assured, “The situation is now under control and the pipeline is being repaired. Supply will be normalised soon.”
