Noida Authority serves notice to Omaxe

Noida Authority served a notice to realty major Omaxe Buildhome Limited, and asked it to furnish the balance sheet for the annual maintenance expenditure and details of the sinking fund within two weeks’ time.

The notice states that these details were sought from the builder earlier too but the Authority received no reply. It also says that the Authority had been consistently receiving complaints against the builder from residents.

Surya Prakash, a resident of Grand Omaxe, a residential society in Sector 93B, Noida, complained, “The builder has not been sharing the details of interest-free maintenance security [IFMS], sinking funds, the repair of common areas — this despite the fact that the society’s RWA has taken over the maintenance and deployed a housekeeping agency and security guards.”

Residents alleged the builder was flouting Clause 5 of Section 14 of the UP Apartment Act 2010. It mandates that the builder has to share the account details with the resident body.

Santosh Singh, officer on special duty with the group housing cell, said, “It is the responsibility of the builder to furnish the details sought within a period of 15 days.”
