Amrapali protestors unwilling to relent

Two days after a homebuyer reportedly fell sick while protesting outside the corporate office of realty major Amrapali, Amit Mohan Prasad, Noida Authority CEO, reached out to hundreds of homebuyers today. He has visited the venue and urged the homebuyers to end the protests.

He assured homebuyers that the government has taken note of their situation and are working on ways to solve their problems. He said, “This is the 25th day of your protests. Please end it now — both Noida Authority and the government are aware of the situation.”

But this assurance from Authority top brass failed to assuage the irate homebuyers.

Homebuyers have demanded a written assurance from the CEO saying that their investments are safe even if the company declared itself bankrupt. Only then would they end their strike, they said.

Buyers have also met Noida MLA Pankaj Singh at his office in Sector 20.

Prasad said he will table their demand before the committee appointed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. However, he added, that his response would depend on the decision of the committee.

The committee’s visit to the authorities has been scheduled for September 14.

The protests had started on August 13, and the homebuyers are unwilling to relent at this stage.
