Dwarka: ANHLGT develops a community library

Here’s some good news for book lovers of Dwarka. The Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-together (ANHLGT) is developing a community library at Sector 23 community hall owned by the corporation.

The work is in its final stages, and the team is collecting books through donations from people across Dwarka. The bookshelves are already in place.

City Spidey visited the library and spoke to ANHLGT president Cicily Kodiyan.

She said, “This library was a longstanding demand from the people of Dwarka. We are now working to get as many books as we can through donations. We have been sending our messages to various RWAs, social organisation, and interested individuals to come forward and donate books. This is a community library, where anyone is welcome.”

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Kodiyan, a writer herself, said, “The new generation should take interest in books, as this is one of the strongest ways to develop the personality and thoughts. We are keen to develop reading habits in people — this library is a step in that direction.”

She added, “This library will stock all types of books — social, religious, scientific, academic. It will cater to all age groups. We appeal to the people of Dwarka to donate books.”
