Noida police divert traffic for underpass construction

Noida police have decided to stop traffic movement on the road connecting Mamura Chowk, Sector 62, to Sector 60 for three days due to construction work on an underpass. Movement on the road will be restricted from 5 am on April 8 to 5 pm on April 10.

The restriction is set to disrupt the movement of thousands of commuters.

Dharmendra Yadav, traffic inspector, Noida, said vehicles coming from Sector 62 will be diverted to a left turn at Mamura Chowk towards the Sector 69 water tank via Sector 64. The commuters will then be directed towards Sector 60 on Master Plan 2 road, from where they will move towards Sector 71 and onwards.

The commuters will have to take the same route to return, said Yadav. "Traffic will revert to usual from Monday," he added.

Atul Verma, a daily commuter, told the City Spidey that commuters will have to face traffic congestion all day on Friday, being a working day.

The road marked in red has been cordoned off. Green arrows show the direction of traffic flow.
