Noida Authority to meet RWAs every month

To solve the problems of residents in a much shorter span of time, the Noida Authority would now be conducting regular monthly meetings with RWAs of each sector. Residents would be raising their issues with the authority.

Project engineer of each circle has been assigned the responsibility of convening regular meeting. Heads of departments including those from sanitation, horticulture, civil, electrical and encroachment would also be present to hear the grievances and would have to plan action accordingly.

This move is expected to reduce complaint redressal time drastically and will improve coordination among residents and officers as well. Additional Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority, Rajesh Prakash said that with the present grievance redressal mechanism, people write directly to higher authority and by the time it reaches the concerned officer, lots of time has passed and also, the complaints loses its seriousness.

Prakash said, “We are working to set up a mechanism under which project engineer (PE) of each work circle will be entrusted with the power to convene monthly meeting with RWAs regularly. This official will be held accountable if the meeting is not held. This move will improve communication with residents and each complaint will be given a time bound redressal plan.”

Noida Authority took this decision on Saturday in a joint meet of RWAs and officers held at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6.

The officials of Noida Authority would be responsible for preparing minutes of the meeting and if they fail to do so, RWAs have been empowered to prepare minutes of the meeting and spell the same out in the next meeting. Action taken will be discussed in the next meeting.

There will also be review meetings in which top officers from the Noida Authority would be present. This meet would be conducted every three months. Which means, the frequency of customary meeting has been raised from once a year to four times a year.
