Chain-snatching attempt in Alpha II

Residents of Greater Noida’s Alpha II sector have no respite from the ever-increasing incidents of crime. Hardly 24 hours after Wednesday’s incident, in which miscreants broke locks of several sector gates and damaged CCTV cameras, criminals struck yet again.

Two motorcycle-borne criminals tried to snatch a chain from a woman in the sector on Thursday afternoon. The woman, Suman Sharma, raised an alarm and foiled the attempt, but was injured as the criminals pushed her and she fell down as the criminals escaped.

Elam Singh Nagar, president of the Federation of Greater Noida RWAs, said, “The resident body is now ensuring that all gates, except one, remain closed. If the open gate is manned by security guards, such incidents should not happen.”

Inspector Anil Pratap, station officer at Kasna police station, told City Spidey, “Soon after we received complaints of bikers forcing open gates of Alpha II, we ensured the gates were more securely locked. Police patrolling in the area has been increased and we are trying our best to nab the miscreants.”
