The district magistrate of Noida, NP Singh, will convene the first meeting between flat buyers, developers and Noida Authority officials on Tuesday, May 3.

Builders such as Amrapali and Supertech, against whom there are a maximum number of homebuyer complaints, will be the first to be called to these meetings. This move has come as a pleasant surprise to homebuyers who have been agitating against these builders for a long time.

Abhishek Kumar, a member of Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association, told City Spidey, “We feel this meeting will go a long way in solving our problem. So many of us have been waiting for possession of our dream flats, and now there may be some hope for us to actually get them.” Kumar added that those who had managed to move into their flats faced a different problem — that of facilities not being provided by the builders.

PK Agarwal, ACEO of Noida Authority, believed that now that the district magistrate would directly hear the woes of homebuyers, he would certainly take action against the builders.

NP Singh seemed determined to solve the issue. “When flatbuyers level accusations against builders, the builders in turn pass the blame on to Noida Authority. But at these meetings, when all three parties sit face to face and discuss the issues, passing the buck will not be possible,” he said.

Singh also added that strict action would be taken against a builder if it skipped the designated meeting.
