Amrapali Silicon City protests against 14-hr-long power cut

Residents of Amrapali Silicon City in Sector 76, Noida, took to the roads to protest against the builder's inaction in providing them electricity for the past three days. Angry residents blocked the main road of the sector, which resulted in a three-kilometre-long traffic jam from Sector 71 to Sector 73.

They told City Spidey that there was no electricity supply for the past 14 hours. Both the electricity department and the builder's estate office staff blamed a local snag. When asked for details, they were unable to provide a satisfactory answer.

Pulkit Sharma, a resident, said, "Whenever we question the estate manager or the other staff, they tell us it's some fault in the lines that is going to be rectfied soon. But no action had been taken so far."

Another resident, Gaurav Rai, said the problem with electricity was also affecting water supply to households. This has been a double whammy for residents and is affecting schoolchildren and officegoers in particular.

When City Spidey contacted the society's estate manager, Raghav Kumar, he just repeated what we already know — that there is a local fault and the electricity department is working to rectify it.
