Residents and AOA of Mahagun Mansion Phase 1 conducted an anti-encroachment and tree-planting drive in the society's vicinity on Sunday.

The drive, named "Encroachment Hatao Plant Lagao" was conducted in presence of YN Chaudhry, head of GDA enforcement cell and Alok Kumar, president of FedAOA. They were also joined by Amresh Garg, president of GC Grand AOA and other board members.

The drive was conducted following the removal of the garbage dumpsters and squatters from right outside the society. In the programme, residents cleaned the area and fenced it off. The area was then converted to a green belt by planting new saplings.

Milind Manasvi, head of the external affairs committee of Mahagun Mansion, said, that it was a good initiative and was a success. "It can be replicated across other societies," added Milind.

Speaking to City Spidey, Chaudhry said that many other societies were also facing the same problem. "The GDA will conduct similar drives in other societies with support from the resident bodies," he added.
