Noida

HC rules out direction on interchange Metro station: The Delhi high court has declined to issue directions to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to construct an interchange station on the Metro line connecting Noida to Janakpuri West, and the Airport Express Line. The court said it found no "arbitrariness or irrationality" in the decision taken by DMRC to forego an interchange station near Shankar Vihar as it was technically not feasible.

Buyers want to settle deadline issue with Jaypee: Homebuyers in Jaypee's Wish Town project in Sector 128 have sought a meeting with the senior management of the developer to discuss deadlines for completion of projects. The projects are running behind schedule. Earlier on Saturday, the officers of Jaypee were committed to fast action on the projects.

Greater Noida

Liquor meant for panchayat voters seized: Police in Greater Noida arrested four men, near Salarpur underpass in Dankaur on Sunday, on charge of smuggling spurious liquor. A total of 17 cartons of illicit liquor was recovered from their possession. The consignment, found in a Hyundai Accent the accused were travelling in, was meant for voters taking part in the panchayat elections.

Gurgaon

Poorly lit e-way prone to accidents: The poorly lit Gurgaon-Delhi expressway and its service lanes compromise the safety of motorists, especially those who use it past sundown. Since the e-way and its service lanes are inconsistently and partially illuminated, intermittent dark patches lead to accidents. According to a survey conducted by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), between Dhaula Kuan and Sirhaul, around 23 per cent lights on the service lanes and 120 out of 950 lights on the main carriageway, around 13 per cent, are faulty. Likewise, of 1,200 lights between Sirhaul and Kherki Daula, 3 per cent on the main carriageway are faulty and 23 per cent on service roads dysfunctional.

Paras Tierea protest against builder: Residents of Paras Tierea highrise society in Sector 137 on Sunday protested against the builder alleging poor quality of construction, high maintenance charge and lack of security in the locality. The builder, however, dismissed the allegation as a motivated. He said those, who are protesting, are aspiring to be the RWA president.
