What lies beneath Mahagun Moderne isn't pretty

Residents of the Noida Sector 78 society are fed up with the numerous problems plaguing the apartment complex, even as the builder does nothing about it.

What lies beneath Mahagun Moderne isn't pretty

Flat owners of Mahagun Moderne, Sector 78, Noida, are unhappy with the facilities provided to them by the builder. Residents complain that living in the society has become a nightmare.

Residents said that despite depositing two years' maintenance charges at Rs 2.25 per sqft in advance, all they had got in return were third-rate services from the builder. They complained that quality of water supplied was abysmal and close to 30 people in the society were currently suffering from skin problems as a result.

Residents also complained that last Thursday there was no water supply throughout the day. They blamed the builder for not attending to the broken water pipeline. Despite the builder arranging for 150 water tankers to meet the water-supply demand of the households, residents said that it wasn't sufficient.

Jeetesh Parashar, a resident, told City Spidey, that there were 80 security guards deployed per shift, but that did nothing to stop frequent incidents of siphoning off petrol and theft of several motorcycles from occuring. "The society has dozens of problems," said Parashar. "Apart from the occasional thefts, the lifts don't work properly and last Monday one of the lifts stopped midway, with three residents trapped in it for almost 30 minutes."

Himanshu Yadav, another resident, said that the builder had failed to deliver the club house, promised to be ready by March. "But that's nothing. The lower basement is full of sewage and it is stinking. The builder has not even lifted a finger to fix the issue," added Yadav.

City Spidey took up the list of grievances with Satendra Kumar Singh, General Manager of Mahagun Moderne. "We will ensure that all the problems are solved in few days," said Singh. And what about incidents of petrol being siphoned off from vehicles and theft of motorcycles from the society? "Nothing of that sort had ever occured in the society," he denied.
