Jalvayu Vihar's monthly gift to senior residents...

This month's Humjoli saw the society's older residents party hard, amid an atmosphere brimming with good vibes and laughter.

Jalvayu Vihar's monthly gift to senior residents...

Two couples, the Bakshis and the Singhs celebrated their golden jubilee at Jalvayu Vihar yesterday. The couples took a walk down memory lane as the they exchanged jaimalas, complete with a pundit chanting vedic mantras in the background.

It's nothing new to the Noida society though. The society, spread across sectors 21 and 25, celebrates this unique festival every month. It's called Humjoli.

The event sees the older residents have more fun than all youngsters of the society combined!

Humjoli features a different theme each month. This time the theme was 'Khel special'.

How did residents like the event? The picture says it all

The games started with 'Passing the parcel', followed by Ringing the bottle, Word Antakshari and Guess the Condiment. Ringing the bottle was a big hit, especially among men. The atmosphere was vibrant with giggles and cheers and lots of good vibes.

The highlight of the evening was the DCB bank honouring eight of the society's octogenarians. The residents were thrilled and thanked Meena Vora, resident and main organiser of the event.

The day ended with a lavish feast for all.

Vora told City Spidey that the event aims to spread joy among all senior residents of the society.

Narendra Mahajan, secretary of the senior-citizen group, told City Spidey that apart from getting together and having fun, the main aim of the event was to bring some happiness in the otherwise monotonous life of us elders.

The next Humjoli meet is at 6 pm on June 15 at Shivaji Park, Sector 21.
