Dwarka RWAs discuss power-related issues with BSES

Representatives of various Dwarka RWAs met BSES officials at their Sector 13 office yesterday. They discussed power-related issues such as low voltage and frequent power cuts. Residents of Sector 16B, Sector 9, Rajapuri, Palam and Sadh Nagar were present at the meeting. JP Kaushik (AVP) and RK Viz (DGM) represented BSES at the meeting.

Ramesh Mamiskar, a Sadh Nagar resident, apprised the officials about the problem of low voltage in the area. "It is especially persistent in lane numbers 4 and 16," he added.

Priya Tyagi, a representative from Rajapuri, elucidated the issues of low voltage and frequent power cuts in her area.

"We discussed several issues with the officials," said Ramesh Mumukshu, general secretary of Ashirvad Apartments RWA. "The handover-takeover of electrical poles between DDA and SDMC has affected the maintenance of the entire electrical infrastructure. The condition of both street lights and high mast lights are terrible. Most societies need re-wiring."

The group also informed the BSES officials that the help line and complaint numbers in Sectors 7 and 9 were unresponsive. Theft of electricity in the areas was also discussed.

After listening to the problems, Kaushik, AVP, BSES, assured the residents of immediate action. "The old transformers will be replaced with new ones to fix the low-voltage problem. We have discovered that there is a theft of about 8% of total electricity. We aim to reduce it to 5% by the end of summer," said Kaushik.
