Residents pose while handing over the proposal for carrying out non-mandatory services to the deputy commissioner of Gurgaon.
Following directions from additional chief secretary, town planning, a delegation of DLF Qutub Enclave Residents’ Welfare Association (QERWA), along with Rama Rani Rathee, the area’s municipal councillor, met TL Satya Prakash, the deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, on Wednesday to discuss the taking over of DLF City Phase I, II and III by the Gurgaon Municipal Corporation.
The delegation emphasised that non-mandatory (additional) services must continue to be provided to residents after the takeover by MCG. These services include security, door-to-door garbage collection, cleaning of vacant plots and other amenities. QERWA also submitted a detailed proposal for maintaining standard.
The delegation reiterated its stand that a Plotted Areas Ownership Act needs to be brought into force to empower RWAs to provide non-mandatory maintenance services.
The deputy commissioner assured the delegation that MCG would take over the residential colonies in August. He said, “Rohit Malik, director, DLF Estate Developers Limited, has informed us that they are ready to hand over the area to MCG. After this, the mandatory maintenance services will be provided by MCG.” RS Rathee, president of QERWA, assured full cooperation to MCG for the maintenance of the colony.
Earlier, on June 9, the QERWA delegation and area municipal councillor had met Shri P Raghavendra Rao, additional chief secretary, town and country planning department, over the matter.
