A group of residents of Noida came together to water and carry out the monthly plant maintenance drive on Monday for the 80-plus saplings they had planted two months ago in the central verge of Sector 144.

Earlier, another team from Greno Green Foundation (GGF) had carried out a plantation drive two months ago in various sectors of Noida and Greater Noida. It was on the smoggy Monday morning that a few volunteers came together and worked out to clean and water the plants.

Speaking to CitySpidey, Sanwarjeet, the spokesperson of GGF said, “In extremely poor weather conditions where air pollution has nearly choked us, we thought of carrying out our maintenance drive for better and greener Noida.”

The move was also appreciated by Dr Mahesh Sharma, member of parliament from Gautam Budh Nagar, on Twitter.

In his comment on the official GGF tweet about the activity, he wrote, “ Keep doing the good work and inspire others to do the same.”
