Even as Greater Noida Authority constructed cycle tracks, cycling on the road is not without risks. Motorists are found routinely encroaching on these cycle tracks putting lives of the cyclists in danger.

President of Federation of Greater Resident Welfare Association (FOGRWA), Ilam Singh Nagar, blamed the district administration and traffic police for the sorry state of affair. “Negligible presence of traffic police on the roads to enforce traffic rules rendered the cycling lanes irrelevant," he said.

Senior Project Manager of GNIDA, PK Kaushik, lamented that the Rs 4.8 crore invested on the cycling track has gone down the drain due to lack of proper enforcement.

SP Traffic, Ram Narain Yadav, could not be contacted. Repeated attempts by City Spidey to gets his comment over the matter failed.
