New Delhi: The road, which connects Geeta Colony to Rajghat, was barricaded on Friday morning due to unexpected protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The barricading was done at morning hours causing inconvenience to office goers.

The road also connects East Delhi to West Delhi. Many commuters use this road as it saves them time in reaching their destination.

The barricading was done considering the violent mass protests happened on Friday last. The move was taken as anti-CAA protesters informed about the peaceful march from Seelampur to Jama Masjid.

The traffic police informed the commuters about the diversion through Twitter. They posted a tweet at 10.33 am asking the commuters to avoid the route from Geeta Colony towards Shantivan due to procession.

However, it did not disclose about the time of removal of the barricades. People, who failed to see the message, got stuck in a traffic jam at the spot.
