MCG launches anti-encroachment drive to decongest roads

Gurugram: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Monday launched an anti-encroachment drive to make the city roads and pavements free from any kind of encroachment.

The enforcement wing of MCG Zone-3 carried out the action along the roadside and footpath of Naharpur Rupa, Hans Enclave, Tulip Chowk, Infocity Sector-34 and Darbaripur Road.

The enforcement team removed all kinds of hoardings, boards placed on roads and footpaths, makeshift eateries, street vendors and other temporary encroachments.

According to MCG officials, a clear warning has been given to the encroachers that if they are found occupying it again then strict action will be implemented against them.

Earlier, the MCG has formed the separate teams in the four zones on the direction of the MCG Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh, to adopt a zero tolerance policy on any kind of encroachment.

The teams led by assistant engineers level rank officer have been directed to take action against encroachments, unauthorised constructions, illegal occupation and make the city roads, footpaths, intersections and market areas free from encroachment.
