As the Allahabad High Court lifted its 2014 stay order on residential projects over land acquisition issues last week, homebuyers of Lotus 300, Great Value Sharanam and Amrapali Heart Beat City in Sector 107, Noida, thronged stalled project sites on Saturday to press for their demand of handing over flats that are ready.

They also organised a tree-planting drive at the project sites and, as a symbol of protest, the children played cricket there.

Puneet Parashar, a homebuyer, said, “Many homebuyers have been given keys to their homes, but they could not move in their flats as the Allahabad High Court had put a stay order on these projects in May 2014 due to land acquisition issues.  But now, the court has lifted the stay after Noida Authority agreed to pay farmers enhanced compensation and development land.”

He said that homebuyers gathered to mount pressure on builders for restarting construction work that are pending since 2014 and added that those homebuyers whose flats are ready should be given possession.
