Delhi tops list of most polluted capitals in world: Report

New Delhi: According to a new report by World Air Quality Report 2019, compiled by IQAir Air Visual, Delhi topped the list of the most polluted capitals in the world. The report also revealed that 21 of the 30 most polluted cities of the world were in India. 

Ghaziabad topped the list of the most polluted cities of the world followed by Hotan in China, Gujranwala in Pakistan, Faisalabad in Pakistan. Delhi took the fifth place. 

The 21 Indian cities which were named the most polluted cities in the report include Ghaziabad, Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Greater Noida, Bandhwari, Lucknow, Bulandshahr, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Jind, Faridabad, Coraut, Bhiwadi, Patna, Palwal, Muzaffarpur, Hisar, Kutail, Jodhpur and Moradabad. 

As far as the world rankings are concerned, India stood fifth in the world's most polluted countries. Bangladesh took the top spot followed by Pakistan, Mongolia and Afghanistan. 

The report also stated that Indian cities have shown improvement compared to last year.
