Government hospitals in East Delhi put on high alert

New Delhi: Amidst the unrest in the National Capital, the Delhi government has put all the hospitals of East Delhi on high alert.

The health department has said that emergency services should not be affected. It also said that hospitals should have enough basic medicines and life saving treatment. 

Medical superintendent of Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital said, “We treated more than 20 patients in emergency yesterday. The staff has been put on high alert for treating patients. Some injured people are still receiving the treatment as their injuries are severe. Some people are coming for blood donation as well. 

One of the residents of Geeta Colony said, “The situation in the area is normal now. We can see movement of people on roads.” 

Chacha Nehru Hospital of East Delhi has also been put on high alert and equipped with essential medical items and medicines.
