Noida: Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Association (CONRWA), an umbrella residents' body wrote to Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer, Noida Industrial Development Authority, demanding enforcement of guest parking provision in highrises or group housing society in the city.

The umbrella residents body argued that private cars are being parked outside the entry gate of residential societies in the city. It is one of the biggest contributors to huge traffic jams that are being witnessed on roads near these societies.

Besides this, it also invites thieves to commit crimes like lifting of cars from outsides the entry gates of these societies. Moreover, there is hardly any society which deploys security guards for keeping a watch on these cars. Taking advantage of the situation, they steal cars from there.

Residents' body urged the authority that if the provision of guest parking in highrises and group housing societies is not strictly enforced, days are not far when residents would not be able to walk outside their societies.

PS Jain, President of the confederation said that the authority should initiate action for enforcing the provision of guest car parking in each residential society.

He said, “There is provision under which parking lot has to be inside and besides the entry gate of these societies. This should be enforced so that similar scene would not created outside those societies, which have come in recent times or yet to be completed.”
