Ghaziabad: As two guards of Crossings Republik are battling for life after they were mowed by speeding car residents of the township came forward to their help. They volunteered to raise fund for the victims' financial assistance.
Vishal Arey, a resident of Gaur Global Village who is spearheading this initiative, told CitySpidey that the residents have managed to raise around Rs-20,000 fund. They were expecting more fund for the cause.
On Thursday night, a speeding I20 ran over the two guards, Desh Raj Singh, 60, and Pancham Singh, 55, while they were on duty at fountain square of the township.
Both the guards were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition before being referred to different hospitals. Currently, Desh Raj is under treatment at Safadarajng Hospital in Delhi while Pancham is recovering at an ESI hospital in Noida.
Overwhelmed by the residents' gesture, security in-charge of the township, Dinesh, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to them for extending financial assistance to the ill-fated guards.
He said both the guards hailed from the economically weaker section and they could be able to manage only initial medical expenses. He felt obliged to the residents for their timely help.
The police have registered an FIR against the car driver under section 279 for rash (negligent driving) and section 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC.
