Rain likely to return to Delhi on Holi; clear sky for now

New Delhi: The National Capital witnessed a clear sky on Sunday. On Saturday it experienced overcast sky with a windy day.

The maximum and minimum temperature on Sunday would hover around 25 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively. On Saturday while the maximum temperature was 21.3 degrees Celisus, seven nothces below normal, the minimum temperature was 13 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average.

The city received 19.7 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8.30am on Saturday. Other stations like Palam recorded 22.3mm rain, Lodhi Road 20.2mm, Ridge 30.1mm and Ayanagar recorded 21mm rain.

According to Met Department, another western disturbance is expected to come on March 10 with drizzle at night. Light rain is expected on March 11 and 12. 

The rain and windy conditions brought improvement in air quality. The city scored a hat trick in recording in ‘satisfactory’ air quality.  On Thursday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 79, Friday it stood at 64 and on Saturday it was recorded at 67.
