New Delhi: Doctors from All India Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and volunteers of Healthy Aging India delivered a talk on awareness about COVID-19 and hygiene. They also distributed sanitiser, soaps, and masks in night shelters located near gate no.3 of the premier health centre of the country
Dr Amrinder Singh Mahi described the condition of the shelter homes as very pathetic and unhygienic. “Since people here are not following social distancing, we have decided to distribute masks and other accessories for personal protections,” he said.
He further said the beds in the shelter homes are so close to each other that there can’t be any social distancing. Toilet facility is not available to inmates. The Government, he said must look into the matter on an urgent basis.
