New Delhi: Unlock 2.0 has come into force from Wednesday. Under this, the restrictions on schools, colleges, multiplexes, gyms, bars, metro services will continue. However, there is good news for the National Capital Region commuters as there will be no restrictions on the border between the states.

Since the lockdown started a few months ago, many states resorted to sealing the borders in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. But now, there will be free movement of vehicles across the states. The order came from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

“States/ UTs, based on their assessment of the situation, may prohibit certain activities outside the Containment zones, or impose such restrictions as deemed necessary. However, there shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods including those for cross land-border trade under Treaties with neighbouring countries. No separate permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements,” the MHA guidelines released on Monday said.

However, the lockdown has been extended till July 31 in the containment zones. There will be relaxations outside the containment zones.

The relaxations include allowing more than five customers at a time in large showrooms. They will have to maintain the distance of six feet between themselves. It will be allowed in the various shopping malls operating in NCR.
