New Delhi: The Delhi government on Tuesday approved the doorstep delivery of ration to eligible beneficiaries in the state.

Terming it a revolutionary step, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the ‘Mukhya Mantri Ghar Ghar Ration Scheme’ in a digital briefing.

The CM said that it will be launched in six to seven months and will also be linked to the Centre’s ‘One Nation, One Ration Card Scheme’.

“Under the scheme, wheat, flour, rice and sugar bags will be delivered at the doorstep of people. Taking ration from a PDS shop will be optional,” he said.

Doorstep delivery of ration had featured in the poll promises of Aam Aadmi Party during the 2020 assembly election campaign.
