DMRC starts construction of 5th metro bridge over Yamuna

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started construction of its fifth metro bridge over river Yamuna in Delhi-NCR. The new bridge will come up on Majlis Park – Maujpur Metro corridor, which is part of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4.

The bridge will be 560 meters long and it will connect the Soorghat station and the Sonia Vihar station. 

After carrying out geotechnical investigation at the location of proposed piers, the activity of casting of test piles is in progress. 

This bridge will come up between two existing bridges – Wazirabad Bridge and Signature Bridge. All the mandatory approvals from the concerned agencies have been obtained for the construction of the bridge.

The current four metro bridges on Yamuna are located at Yamuna Bank, Nizamuddin, Kalindi Kunj and Shastri Park.
